WCC’s High-Capacity Ultrafiltration (HUF) systems achieve State of California OSHPD Special Seismic Certification
Several years ago, WCC (Water Control Corporation) launched its series of High-Capacity Ultrafiltration (HUF) systems, which can serve as a point-of-entry bacterial/viral firewall for a whole building’s domestic water system. These filter systems screen out nearly ALL microbes, particulates, and nutrients down to 0.01 micron size. That means pathogens like Legionella and Pseudomonas can be prevented from infiltrating the water system in a healthcare, hospitality, or other facility. At the same time, disinfectants (like chlorine and chloramine) are not removed; and they are able to work more effectively due to reduced biological load in the incoming water.
These filters range up to 500 GPM+ flow capacity with minimal pressure loss and last from 10-20 years with very little maintenance. An onboard membrane integrity test system ensures they are always working to remove harmful agents.
These filters are also a useful tool for the disinfection/sanitation of emergency backup water systems.
WCC is proud to announce that our full lineup of Phoenix GT Ultrafiltration systems has been pre-approved by the State of California’s Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) for Special Seismic Certification. In layman’s terms, this certification means that WCC’s point-of-entry equipment (with an available seismic install kit) has been fully tested on a “shaker table” to successfully withstand high seismic forces. Having pre-approved OSHPD certification means less headache for engineers, installers, and healthcare facility managers in California. It also means that folks in other earthquake-prone states can rest assured this technology is acceptable for their markets.
