Case Studies

Equipment Description:

A complete rainwater recycling system, from the inlet pre-filters to the blue dye injection in the distribution system, and everything in between. The facility required rainwater pre-filters to eliminate large debris like sticks, leaves, and insects. With the storage tanks installed at a level below the storm sewer connection from the city, a diverter valve was needed to direct rainwater to the storm sewer when the tanks were at capacity. A turnkey skid-mounted system with ultraviolet (UV) disinfection was utilized to maintain the water quality held in storage and distribution.

Problem:

With an expansion of their facility required to keep up with their growing congregation and a strong desire to be good stewards of the environment, the church wanted to include “green” technologies within their facility to practice what they preached.

Solution:

Installation of a rainwater recycling system from WCC. WCC assisted the engineers, architects, and owner early on in the design phases of the project to explore the available options based on the site/installation conditions. WCC and the engineers came up with a simple yet effective way to reclaim rainwater off of their roof, collect it in storage tanks, and reuse it to flush fixtures and irrigate in the new expansion of the facility.
