Equipment Description:

Commercial water softening system with 3” control valves and three (3) resin tanks, each with 20 cubic feet of ion-exchange-based media for hardness removal.

Problem:

Well water supply has naturally occurring minerals that will lead to scale accumulation in the HVAC system. If not handled properly, this would lead to poor performance of the HVAC equipment and additional maintenance to ensure proper operation and results of the HVAC system.

Solution:

The contractor installed a commercial triplex water softening system. The system includes 3” control valves with individual meter assemblies to determine when additional tanks need to be online or when regeneration is required. The system also includes a Brine Reclamation package that helps to reduce the amount of salt consumption and water waste during the regeneration cycle by about 30%. This offers great savings from salt consumption alone, not to mention the environmental impact as well.
