Carbon Filtration Systems

WCC’s “CF” Series Commercial Carbon Filtration Systems feature Catalytic-High Activated Carbon (CAT-HAC) media for high-efficiency removal of chlorine, chloramine, hydrogen sulfide, and THM’s, plus general improvement in water taste & odor. These units are self-cleaning, with a backwash cycle every few days. Systems are typically sized with adequate CAT-HAC to provide years of filtration before media replacement is required.

Common Applications

  • Pre-treatment for Reverse Osmosis
  • Food and beverage manufacturing
  • Drinking water taste/odor improvement
  • General removal of chlorine, chloramine, and trihalomethanes

System Specifications

  • 1 ppm chlorine removal capacity: 7 million gallons @ 2 GPM per ft³ media / 1 million gallons @ 4 GPM per ft³ media
  • 1 ppm chloramine removal capacity: 3.5 million gallons @ 2 GPM per ft³ media / 500K gallons @ 4 GPM per ft³ media
  • For increased capacity and redundancy, multiple units can be installed in parallel (allow a minimum of 6” between tanks)
  • Electrical requirements: Provide standard, 3-prong outlet for each individual unit (120VAC, 5FLA, 60Hz)
