NitraMAX Nitrate Removal
Nitrates are a worrisome contaminant, often found in well water sources. Usually the result of agricultural pollution (from fertilizers and animal waste), they can lead to serious health conditions, including “Blue Baby Syndrome” (whereby infants are unable to absorb adequate levels of oxygen into their bloodstreams) and cancer. The USEPA has set the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for nitrate at 10 parts-per-million [10 mg/L]. BrassMaster Plus NitraMAX Nitrate Removal systems effectively reduce nitrate to levels below 10 PPM, making water safe for human consumption. Standard models incorporate additional water softening media for the reduction of hardness. NitraMAX units are also available without softening media for those homes that already enjoy soft water.
Effective treatment of:
- Water Hardness
- Iron *
* High iron concentrations may require additional equipment
- Insulated tank design eliminates condensation
- Exclusive 5 year APM warranty for quick and inexpensive servicing
- Available in nitrate-only units (without softening or iron removal)
- Postage pre-paid test bottles for the first year included
NitraMAX Nitrate Removal Design
Standard NitraMAX combi systems feature high-quality cation resin for the removal of hardness minerals (including calcium and magnesium, plus low-levels of iron). Once softened, the water then passes through a bed of nitrate/sulfate selective anion resin to remove the nitrates and render it safe for consumption. Both medias are regenerated (cleaned) with sodium chloride (salt) pellets, just like a standard water softener. LS units contain only the nitrate selective anion resin, yet continue to rely on salt for regeneration. An added benefit: NitraMAX systems are also extremely effective at removing both sulphate and perchlorate, in instances where these contaminants are present.
NOTE: NITRATE IS A REGULATED CONTAMINANT AND CAN CAUSE ILLNESS OR DEATH. IT IS CRITICAL TO TEST WATER NO LESS THAN 2X PER YEAR (BI-ANNUALLY) TO ENSURE PROPER SYSTEM OPERATION. WATER CONTROL OFFERS THIS TESTING/VERIFICATION FOR A SMALL FEE.
APM Modular Design
All models include our popular APM™ modular design, which eliminates the need for field service. Simply put the unit in bypass, pull two pins, and remove the valve module. Replace it with a new valve with a 3-year (BrassMaster) or 5-year (BrassMaster Plus) warranty.
If your unit is still in warranty and you believe you require a new valve, please contact your installer. If your unit is out of warranty, you can purchase a replacement valve at: https://shop.watercontrolinc.com/collections/replacement-modules
